Moldovan poet gets prize for poetry at national festival in Romania

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ – Poet Emilian Galaicu – Paun has been awarded, recently, with the Poetry Prize of the National Festival George Bacovia, in Bacau, Romania, issue 2019.
The awards ceremony took place at the Municipal Theatre Bacovia in Bacau, on Friday, 13 September.
According to organisers, there were nominated for the Poetry Book Award: Romulus Bucur – Odeleta societatii de consum, Nicolae Coande – Memoria unui mort este memoria mea, Emilian Galaicu – Paun – A(II)Rh+eu&Apa.3D, Florin Iaru – Jos realitatea!, Mihai Ignat – Frigul, Ion Tudor Iovian – si omul n – a mai scos niciun cuvant, Nora Iuga – Alaturi cu drum, Vasile Leac – Monoideal, Dan Sociu – Uau.
Emilian Galaicu – Paun took the Bacovia Prize for the Book of Poetry for volume: A(II)Rh+eu (Poem)&Apa.3D (Poemelnic), appeared at Publishing House Cartier in Rotonda collection. Ileana Malancioiu entered the possession of the Bacovia National Prize. Alexandru Cistelecan took the prize for the criticism of poetry, Ioana Vintila – prize for debut, and Matei Visniec – special prize APB.
Bac – Fest 2019 is a festival organised by the County Library C. Sturdza of Bacau, with funding from the Bacau County Council and with the support of numerous partners.
Emilian Galaicu – Paun was born on 22 June 1964 in village Unchitesti, commune Cuhurestii de Sus, Floresti district, in a family of intellectuals. He graduated from the State University of Chisinau, Faculty of Letters (1986) and made doctorate studies at the Institute of Literature M. Gorki in Moscow (1989). He is the member of the Union of Writers of Moldova (USM) (1990) and Romania (1998), member of PEN Club. He is the editor for Bessarabia of magazine Vatra in Targu – Mures, editor – in – chief of Publishing House Cartier, author and presenter of programme: Carte la pachet on Radio Europa Libera. He is the Knight of the Order of Honour (Moldova, 2012) and of Order Meritul Cultural in the rank of Officer (Romania, 2014).
