Repairs carried out in about one thousand schools in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/- At the beginning of the new academic year, major repairs were carried out or the works are being finalized in 946 primary and secondary education institutions in Moldova.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research said that local public authorities and school managers additionally identified about 448 million lei, up by about 120 million lei than in 2018 for the preparation of educational institutions.

Thus, in most cases, the buildings of the educational institutions were repaired, including their thermal insulation. 277 schools benefited from such works, by over one hundred more than in the previous year. Roofs were repaired at 131 other institutions.

Repair work on electrical and thermal networks was carried out in about 160 schools.

There are over 1,200 primary and secondary education institutions in Moldova. The Ministry of Education said that all secondary education institutions began working as normal in the new school year.
