Moldovan president meets Director-General for Neigbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon has had a working meeting with Director-General for Neigbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission Christian Danielsson, on a visit to Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discussed the agenda of the Moldova-EU relations. Igor Dodon thanked the European partners for the enhanced attention and constant support provided to Moldova. At the same time, the president highlighted the importance of the meetings with European Union officials, held in Brussels in early September, focused on diverse aspects of common interest.
The head of state informed the EU delegate about the signing, on 16 September, of the political agreement on the goals between the parliamentary factions of the Party of Communists (PSRM) and ACUM, as well as between the Government, Presidency and Parliament. “Proceeding from the objectives stipulated in this document, Moldova takes the commitment to continue the reforms needed and to implement the provisions of the Association Agreement, which remain a priority for the country’s leadership,” Igor Dodon said.
At the same time, the Moldovan president reiterated that the justice reform, combating corruption and strengthening the democratic institutions were the principal national priorities meant to improve the living standards of Moldova’s citizens and boost the development of the national economy.
