Beneficiaries of temporary disability allowances can receive money today

Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/- Beneficiaries of temporary disability allowances can get money today. The announcement was made by the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS), which stated that it transferred about 8.2 million lei for the payment of the allowances of the persons who were in the medical leave in July and August.

In order to receive the money, the beneficiaries should contact the banking institution to which the salary or social account was opened, or to any post office.

Since 1 July 2019, new procedures for calculating and paying temporary disability benefits are applied. Accordingly, the allowance for the first 5 days of sick leave in the case of common illnesses or accidents not related to work is calculated and paid by the employer, but not more than 15 cumulative days during a calendar year. Starting with the sixth day of temporary incapacity for work, the establishment, calculation and payment of allowances is carried out by CNAS from the account of the state social insurance budget.

Earlier, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Ala Nemerenco announced the launch of a portal for medical leave certificates, on which the data from the certificates are registered. Subsequently, the information is transmitted to CNAS to be used in calculation and payment of benefits.
