Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/- The Superior Council of Magistracy decided on 19 September to postpone until the next meeting the examination of the request signed by 87 judges, who requested the convening of the General Assembly of Judges, to discuss the resumption of the CSM activity.
Also today, the head of the council will order the initiation of an investigation of the judicial inspection, which will verify how these signatures were collected, after several magistrates decided to withdraw their signatures.
CSM head Dorel Musteata said that five judges have already decided to withdraw their signatures, saying they have signed for another text of the application. He said that the document was also signed by judges who are on vacation or are not working temporarily, and some have put their signature on blank sheets.
Last weekend, 87 judges signed an application requesting the resignation of the members of the Superior Council of Magistracy and called for the urgent convening of the General Assembly of Judges.
