Adviser of U.S. President congratulates Moldovan government for progress made

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ – During the working visit to Washington, Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, has met with the U.S. President Advisor, Ivanka Trump, during which the White House official has reconfirmed the support of the American State for Moldova.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the dialogue has focused upon an exchange of views on implementation of difficult Government reforms, in particular the fight against corruption, PM Maia Sandu stressing the importance of creating a democratic state and restoring the confidence of citizens in its institutions.
"Moldova is the country fighting for a new democratic start. Thus, we set out to work intensively on the creation of functional state institutions, which will serve the interest of citizens. Also, it is important to support the entrepreneurs in our country, as well as the involvement of women in society, but also in the business environment”, said Maia Sandu.
The PM has also emphasised that Moldova needs external assistance, thus laying the foundations for a sustainable economy in it.
In the end of the day, Ivanka Trump has encouraged the Government to continue carrying out an extensive process of reforms aimed at modernising Moldova and increasing the quality of life of the citizens of Moldova. Also, the U.S. side has expressed the openness for a more dynamic interaction of both states, insisting in this context on ensuring an effective legislative framework for promotion and involvement of women within business environment. "The fight against corruption is essential to attract investment and create a strong business environment. The USA will continue to support Moldova in implementing democratic reforms, but also in developing empowerment programmes of women, as well as creating equal opportunities to encourage women to get into business," said U.S. President Adviser, Ivanka Trump.
