Moldova needs honest persons in all public positions, says PM

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova needs honest persons in all public positions, including in the local public administration (APL). The statement has been made by Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, on Sunday, 20 October, at the exit of the polling station.

The Premier has said she wants a responsible and honest mayor to head Chisinau municipality and she has urged the citizens to vote.

"I invite all citizens of Moldova to vote today because your vote today can help us strengthen our fight against the Mafia system. The Government can help the citizens of Moldova if you choose to serve as mayor and councilor honest persons, continue the struggle that we initiated at the central level and deal only with the interests of citizens in localities in which they will be elected. It is very important to go to the vote today, not to leave this task for the repeated vote because there are chosen councilors today, not just mayors. In the capital we have a lot of issues and I wish to see a responsible and courageous mayor”, said PM.

The general local elections (ALG) are being held in Moldova today. Also, there are being set new parliamentary elections (APN) in 04 uninominal constituencies.
