MPs from ten states gathered in Chisinau at meeting of commission on culture, education of PABSEC

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/- The 53rd meeting of the commission on culture, education and social affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) started in Chisinau today. Attending the event are representatives of national parliaments from ten countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. The forum is hosted by the parliament, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The agenda of the meeting includes speeches by Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi, Chairman of the Commission on Culture, Education and Social Affairs of PABSEC Metin Gündoğdu, Head of the parliamentary delegation to PABSEC Petru Burduja, the chairman of the commission on culture, education, research, youth, sport and media Adrian Lebedinschi.
An important issue on the agenda of the meeting is the presentation and approval of the Report Unemployment in the BSEC member states, state's role in promoting job creation.
On the second day, the election of head and deputy heads of the Committee on Culture, Education and Social Affairs of PABSEC.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was created as a result of major political changes in late 1980s. The countries of the Black Sea region have proposed to transform it into an area of stability, prosperity and peace. On February 26, 1993, in Istanbul, representatives of the parliaments of nine countries - Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine - adopted the Declaration on establishment of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
The Moldovan delegation to PABSEC consists of four members - head of delegation Petru Burduja (PSRM faction), members of the delegation Alexandru Slusari , Sergiu Litvinenco and Violeta Ivanov (PDM faction).
