Romanian Film Days to extend in three towns of Moldova

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Romanian Film Days, which have become a tradition cinematographic event in Moldova, held in Chisinau on 10-13 October, are extending in another three towns – Calarasi, Cahul in Nisporeni – for the first time ever.
According to the organizers, the fifth issue of the Romanian Film Days thus give the chance to film fans also from other towns and cities of Moldova to see some of the current and former achievements of Romania’s cinematography.
A documentary titled, „Călărași – un ținut la poarta Raiului” (Calarasi - a region at the Heaven’s Door) (2018) by film director Dumitru Grosei, will open the Romanian Film Days in Calarasi on 25 October, in the presence of the team and more guests. Also, the public from Calarasi will be able to watch a thriller titled, La Gomera” (2019) by Corneliu Porumboiu, presented at the Cannes Festival and proposed by Romania for the Oscar Awards, a drama Orizont (Horizon) (2015) by Marian Crisan, - a modern adaptation according to the short story, The Lucky Mill, by Ioan Slavici, a classical movie, Răscoala (The Revolt) (1965) by Mircea Muresan, with the leading part played by a great actor born in Bessarabia, Ilarion Ciobanu. In Calarasi, the screenings will take place at the local Community Centre, during three days, on 25-27 October.
In Cahul, the event will be held at the B.P. Hasdeu Theatre on 1-2 November, when three quite expected films could be watched. It is about a romantic comedy, Povestea unui pierde-vară (The story of a idler) (2018), directed by Paul Negoescu and with the leading part played by Alexandru Papadopol, Orizont (2015) by Marian Crisan and The Revolt (1965) by Mircea Muresan.
These three films could be watched also the Community Centre from Nisporeni, on 9-10 November.
The Romanian Film Days are organized by the Alternative Cinema Association of Independent Cinema Men of Moldova and the Rova Film production house of Romania, in partnership with the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, Mihai Eminescu Cultural Institute from Chisinau and other institutions.
