Independent lawmaker submits notification to top court of Moldova

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - An independent MP, Alexandru Oleinic, has submitted a notification to the Constitutional Court (CCM), thereby demanding consideration of the national legislation in terms of insurances with medical assistance for all categories of citizens, including the asylum seekers.
The lawmaker said that the staying of asylum seekers in Moldova was temporary, but can last up to several years. On all this period, the concerned people have no access to medical assistance.
According to Oleinic, this omission triggered a practice through which asylum seekers are refused the reception of payments for the mandatory health insurances premiums, in the same conditions as for other categories of persons with right of provisional stay. These payments are provided individually, by paying the mandatory health insurances premium in fixed sum, as for the citizens of Moldova.
In his notification, MP Alexandru Oleinic also demanded that, till the deficiency is remedied, the same provisions should be enforced for asylum seekers as in the case of the foreigners who were given right of temporary stay in Moldova. This will make possible the payment of the mandatory health insurances premium in similar conditions as the citizens of Moldova.
