Moldovan president visits Japan

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/- At the invitation of the Japanese Government, President Igor Dodon visits Japan to attend the coronation ceremony of Emperor Naruhito. Former Emperor Akihito abdicated in this springr, after 30 years of ruling.
According to the presidential press service, over 150 heads of state and government will participate in the festivity. Igor Dodon expects to have bilateral meetings with leaders from abroad.
Japan is one of the most important external partners of the Republic of Moldova and the third largest donor, after the USA and the EU. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, in March 1992, the country has given us financial assistance worth over 150 million dollars, mainly in agriculture, regional development and ecology.
