Girl from Moldovan capital organizes party on her birthday at boarding school from left bank of Dniester

Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/ - A nine-year-old gild from Chisinau, named Sofia, has ruled to mark her birthday through a charity action, recently held at a boarding school from the Glinoe village from the left bank of Dniester. The child and her family came up with this initiative and the Clipa Siderală (Sidereal Moment) Charity Foundation for Children provided every needed support for the event.      

„The celebration of a birthday along with children from boarding schools or from disadvantaged families is part of the new projects launched by the organization on the last period. We hope that the idea will be backed by as many interested people as possible, who will be closer to needy children and the action will become just as  known and supported as the Christmas Caravan, Santa Claus Academy, Friendship, Creativity and Sport Festival, Sparta-Charity Camp – projects which we have been organizing during 30 years,” the director of the Clipa Siderală Foundation, Salavat Jdanov, has said.  

The girl’s family prepared an entertainment programme, presents and a cake with a weight of 25 kg for 130 disciples of the institution from Glinoe. The children sang, danced and participated in various contests. According to the organizers, “both the children guests and the children hosts made sure that love and friendship have no borders and age and their wishes can come true – they must only be heard and backed.”

„There was a quite emotive party, especially the meeting of children. The latter were well-disposed, friendly; they participated with heart and soul in all entertainment activities organized for them. We read in their eyes happiness and gratitude,” a volunteer of the aforementioned Foundation, Nicolae Matei, said.    

The boarding school from the Glinoe village from the left bank of Dniester was set up in 1964. During years, the status of the institution changed more times. Presently, the school hosts over 200 minors in various risky situations.  

The Clipa Siderală Charity Foundation for Children is a non-governmental, non-commercial organization, member of the National Youth Council of Moldova. It has worked since 1989.
