Moldovan cabinet cuts annual reward for state's representatives in commercial companies

Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/ - The annual reward for the state’s representatives in the leadership bodies of the commercial companies will be cut. The cabinet of ministers today approved a draft decision which provides for the diminution of rewards from five per cent to a ceiling of one per cent from the size of the annual net profit got by the commercial company, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
According to estimations, following these changes, the state budget is to collect about 20.5 million lei in form of dividends. Additionally, decision-makers propose to cap the rewards paid individually up to two average monthly salaries per company for the previous year, within the limit of the ceiling of up to one per cent. “This fact must be completed with sanctioning measures for those who, ill-meaningly, participated in the taking of decisions at state enterprises which led to their embezzlement. They must be called to account. I know that certain representatives of the Democratic Party (PDM) presently also try to influence the policy of taking decisions at certain state enterprises through the people they placed their more years ago. We are in the process of reorganizing these boards. We should identify honest people willing to represent the state at these enterprises,” Prime Minister Maia Sandu said.
Moldova will have an Automated Information System (SIA), State Cadastre of Waters. The concept represents a vision on the creation and work of the information space in fields dealing with the protection, management and record of surface and underground water resources, hydro-technical constructions and protected areas. The approval of the Concept SIA, State Cadastre of Waters, is provided for in a government’s action plan established for 2019 and the creation of the information system will be carried out in May 2020. The Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM) will ensure the setting up of the System through contracting the company due to work out the technical documentation and to develop the concept. The project is financed by the Austrian Development Agency and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The cabinet will earmark 170,000 lei to second-level local public authorities, in order to back district programmes of grants for young people’s initiatives locally. Thus, 100,000 lei will be provided to the Soroca district council and 70,000 lei - to the Ungheni district council.
The money will reach the public administration of the aforementioned two settlements, only after decision-makers consider the set of compulsory acts sent by the concerned authorities to the Education, Culture and Research Ministry. At the same time, young people’s initiatives and the winner projects will be selected at a contest.
To continue the implementation of the programme on technical and financial assistance, provided by the Romanian government for pre-school institutions of Moldova, the cabinet ruled to re-allocate about 774,000 euros for the works of construction of an additional education building of the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum from the Comrat municipality. This is one of the two lyceums where subjects are taught in Romanian from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and the need to extend the lyceum appeared following the annual increase in the number of pupils willing to study in the Romanian language. At the same time, the local public authority will come up with a co-financing worth about nine million lei from the Compensation Fund of UTA Gagauzia. PM Maia Sandu said that, during her recent visit to Comrat, she had discussed this subject with the lyceum’s teachers, who confirmed the necessity of these works. The prime minister also gave assurances that the government was interested in the carrying out of this project as quickly as possible.
Moldova and Finland will cooperate to improve the situation in the customs sector. The governments of the two countries will sign an agreement for an indefinite period, which provides for mutual assistance for the correct enforcement of the customs legislation, as well as to ensure security against organized transnational crime and terror groups. The goal of the agreement is to strengthen the cooperation relations and ensure the economic, commercial, fiscal, social, cultural, industrial and agricultural security between the two states. The agreement is set to be signed till late 2019.
