Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with her Lithuanian counterpart

Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today had a meeting with her counterpart of Lithuania Viktoras Prankietis, on the sidelines of the European Conference of Parliament Speakers, held in Strasbourg on 24-25 October 2019, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.     

Zinaida Greceanii thanked for the multidimensional support provided by Lithuania to Moldova. The sides discussed the present stage and prospects for the Moldovan-Lithuanian cooperation, including opportunities of further boosting the inter-parliamentary, commercial and economic cooperation.  

The officials exchanged opinions on a meeting of parliament speakers from Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8), which chose to hold this event in Moldova this year. This meeting represents a platform for Moldova’s promotion, as well as a possibility for presenting economic opportunities for foreign investors.   

Nordic-Baltic Eight is a regional cooperation format which comprises eight countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Up-to-date regional and international issues are within the competence of the forum. This year, Moldova for the first time ever was chosen as host country of the forum of the NB8 parliament speakers.
