EU ambassadors in charge of Eastern Partnership have more meetings at Moldovan parliament

Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - The European Union ambassadors in charge of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) today met the members of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration, Iurie Renita – head of the Commission, Mihail Popsoi, Andrian Candu and Gaik Vartanian, as well as a member of the juridical commission for rules and immunities, Dinu Plangau, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
The ambassadors encouraged the politicians of Moldova to press ahead with the reforms expected by the citizens and reconfirmed openness to provide Moldova with the needed assistance.
For their part, the MPs shared their opinions on more topical aspects, including the foreign policy promoted by Moldova, justice reform, ensuring good governance, relations between the central authorities and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, situation of the civil society and mass media, etc.
On the first day of the visit on 23 October, the EU ambassadors in charge of the Eastern Partnership had a meeting with Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii. At the event, they diplomats expressed support for the parliamentary majority of Moldova and encouraging in its efforts of implementing the reforms.
Representatives from 17 EU member states were members of the delegation of European Union ambassadors, with special missions for Eastern Partnership.
Launched in 2009, the Eastern Partnership represents an initiative of strengthening and deepening the cooperation between EU and the states of the eastern dimension of the European Neighbourhood Policy. The Eastern Partnership regards Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
