Contract on granting to concession of Bus Terminals and Stations might be cancelled in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ - The contract on granting to concession of the Bus Terminals and Stations might be cancelled, as the tender due to which the enterprise was granted to concession was vitiated. The head of the inquiry commission for analyzing the way of organization and carrying out of the privatization and granting to concession of public property (2013-2019), Igor Munteanu, made statements to this effect at a news conference today.

According to Munteanu, there are grounds through which the contract on granting to concession can be cancelled. “Just as in the case of Air Moldova, everything was done for the benefit of a certain group, which was already prepared to present the bid. The group has earlier had access to all documents and all conditions were created for it to win,” Munteanu noted.

Igor Munteanu specified that the tender on selection of the Public-Private Partnership had been won, through a single bid, by an association made up by the Garile Auto Moderne (Modern Bus Stations) ltd company, an enterprise registered two days before the bid was made, FPC Exfactor Ltd and a citizen of the United States.

The head of the inquiry commission also said that the investments the association winning in 2019 committed to make had not been carried out and the state’s interests had been harmed in this case. These non-conformities represent a ground for which the contract can be cancelled, Munteanu added.

Igor Munteanu specified that the final report of the inquiry commission would be unveiled at the next parliament meeting.
