Moldovan president meets group of managers of Yandex company

Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon met a group of managers of Yandex company, on a visit to Moldova. Attending the event were regional director of Yandex Taxi service Aram Sargsean, director for communication with state institutions on the international markets of Yandex Taxi Alexandr Visotki and director for business development in key markets Ivan Zapoliski, the presidential press service has reported.

The company representatives have notified the president about their projects in the Republic of Moldova. The head of state welcomed the company intention to expand activity in the country in the context of deepening economic relations with Russia and drawing investors.

In this context, Dodon said that a special topic of the meeting was the company achievements in the intelligent public transport and own technologies of Yandex, allowing a significant increase in travel security.

Also, the delegation submitted to the president a draft verification of driving licenses, which involves creating a distribution system for the Eurasian Union and partner countries, including Moldova, which gained observer status with UEEA in 2018. "The company representatives believe that such verification can be useful not for the taxi, but also for hiring professional drivers in any field throughout the UEEA ”, he said.

The guests of the Russian Federation expressed gratitude to the Moldova leadership for attention to issues related to the development of the highest technologies and reiterated their willingness to provide support through their knowledge and experience.

The president said that the meeting represents a continuation of the dialogue initiated by the company Yandex with the state bodies of Moldova at the meeting of the Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Commission, which was held in Chisinau, in September.

Yandex Taxi company has been operating in Chisinau since 25 July 2017. Every month, about 100 thousand people from Chisinau benefit from the services of this company. Besides Moldova, Yandex Taxi is available in 16 countries in Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.
