Depot of weapons, ammunition managed by Moldova's General Police Inspectorate restored with European funds

Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/ – The depot of small calibre weapons, light weapons and ammunition under the management of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) has been opened on Tuesday, 29 October, after being restored in accordance with the international standards.
The event was attended by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), Ianus Erhan. The official has specified that the renovation of this warehouse meets all European – approved security standards.
"The IGP institution fully supports the priorities set by the UN goals of sustainable development and it will make every effort to ensure that the security climate of the citizens is at the highest level," said at the launch event the Secretary of State of MAI, Ianus Erhan.
He has added that relocation and renovation of the weapons depot in the IGP management has been a priority of MAI for over a decade. The total amount of the renovation project constituted $212,000, funds offered by EU.
Also, within a project with European money, it will be renovated shortly the additional two rooms for the preservation of criminal bodies within the inspectorates of Balti and Cahul municipalities.
