Four people apply for position of Prosecutor General

Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/- The commission for selection of candidates for the position of Prosecutor General has selected four candidates following the competition to which 20 people applied. The list of four names will be submitted to the Superior Council of Prosecutors.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice, the commission considered the candidates taking into account their training, professional skills, integrity and personal qualities. Following the results of the psychological test and the final score obtained by the candidates for the interview, the commission decided, by consensus, to submit four candidates: Oleg Crîșmaru, Vladislav Gribincea, Veaceslav Soltan and Alexandr Stoianoglo to the Superior Council of Prosecutors.
In a message posted on official website, Prime Minister Maia Sandu said she expected from the Commission to promote more people from civil society on the short list. "I opt for transparency and I hope the records of the interviews will be made public. I will ask for maximum transparency from now on, ” the premier said.
The competition was announced by the Ministry of Justice on 30 September.
According to the new amendments to the legislation, a special commission will select at least two candidates and will submit to the Superior Council of Prosecutors. CSP will select one candidate and will submit to president for appointment.
