Moldovan speaker meets group of judges

Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/- "We want to have a sustainable justice reform and we want the system to be cleaned up so that the society regains confidence in the justice and the state," Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi said at a meeting with a group of young judges, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Attending the event were Igor Grosu, head of PAS faction, ACUM bloc, Maria Ciobanu, deputy head of DA faction, ACUM bloc, Grigore Novac, member of the legal commission on rules and immunities. The proposals and findings of the judges formulated during the meeting will be analyzed very carefully, and will be sent to the Ministry of Justice for information.
The judges demanded the urgent need for changes. They announced the support and openness for justice reform that should lead to the establishment of an independent and fair justice, as well as to restore people's confidence in justice. They noted that the reform cannot be done with a compromised Superior Council of Magistracy.
Following the discussions with the judges, a parliamentary communication group with representatives of the judiciary will be created.
