Wages of cooks in schools, kindergartens to increase

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/- Salaries for staff involved in feeding children in schools and kindergartens will increase. Government’s Secretary General Andrei Spinu made the statement today.

According to Spînu, higher salaries will receive cooks and assistants of educators. The increases will be between 360 and 536 lei per month and will be applied from January 1, 2020.

"The increases are a first step towards proper recognition of the work that the employees do every day. We understand that it is not a huge amount, but given the budget we have, we will make these increases for cooks and nannies, "said Andrei Spînu.

The announcement was made after the Secretary-General of Government informed that the authorities had worked out a plan consisting of 10 actions aimed at improving the supply and supply of drinking water in schools and kindergartens. Among actions to be taken include adjusting the national model menu recommended for children and pupils, tightening sanctions in case of violation of the rules regarding the feeding of children and streamlining of public procurement procedures for food.
