Moldovan PM congratulates winners of golden medals at World Robot Olympiad

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s National Robotics Team has got three golden medals at the third issue of the World Robot Olympiad - FIRST Global Challenge (FGC). Prime Minister Maia Sandu today received the team members at the government and awarded them honorary diplomas, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM congratulated the young people on the performances achieved and wished them outstanding success in continuation.
„I have always known that we have clever and ingenious children in Moldova and you represent a proof in this respect. I urge you to continue, to develop yourselves in this promising sector and to work with pleasure,” Prime Minister Maia Sandu stressed.
The honorary diploma was awarded to the participants in the Olympiad, Andrei Copaci, Cristian Comendant, Elena Graur, Nicolae Mihălache, Cosmin Ciorbă, Dorina Levca, guided by the team’s manager, Veronica Esanu, and technical mentor Florin Cazac.
The National Robotics Team has got gold for the categories: Grand Challenge Award, FIRST Global Winning Alliance, Ustad Ahmad Lahori Award for Innovation in Engineering.
All team members finished the programme Roboclub, launched in 2014 by the Education Ministry, led by Maia Sandu at that time.
The First Global Challenge competition was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 24-27 October, and brought together young people from 189 countries.
