Moldovan electoral body to test new voter identification system on 3 November

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/- On 3 November, in the runoff elections, the Central Election Commission / CEC / will implement a pilot project to test the voter identification system through bar code readers.
According to CEC data, the project will be implemented within the polling stations (No 1-70) in Botanica, Chisinau municipality. The system was also tested on October 20 and has already shown its effectiveness by reducing the time required to identify the voter in the Turnout application.
Those responsible for carrying out the necessary operations will be the operators of the State Automated Information System Elections of the polling stations concerned.
On 3 November 2019, citizens from 384 localities are expected to elect mayor.
