Today last day for campaigning

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/- The Central Election Commission (CEC) warned that today is the last day when electoral agitation is allowed. The day of silence will be tomorrow in Moldova, before the runoff elections, due on 3 November.

According to the legislation, campaigning is strictly forbidden on election day and the day before it. Also, candidates cannot make transfers to / from the account specified as Electoral fund.

According to the CEC, the continuation in the mentioned days of campaigning by media, candidates and citizens is administrative offense and is punishable by fine. For private people, it is up to 1,500 lei, and for officials or electoral candidate – 2,500 lei.

On 3 November the runoff elections will be held in 384 localities of the country.
