Supreme commander of army inspects completion of exercise Cetatea de Sud 2019 in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ – Igor Dodon, as the Supreme Commander (CS) of the Armed Forces (FA), together with Minister of Defence, General Victor Gaiciuc and Commander of the National Army (AN), General Igor Gorgan, has inspected, on Tuesday, 26 November, the closing of the tactical exercise with troops in the field: Cetatea de Sud 2019 (The southern fortress 2019), the presidency’s press service has reported.
The exercise was held on 14 – 26 November at the Training Centre of the 3rd Infantry Brigade Dacia in Cahul and has aimed to develop the skills of the staff to carry out missions and tasks during peace – time, in crisis situations or in case of anti – terrorist actions.
The fortress of south 2019 is part of the combat training plan of AN for 2019 and it is an important element in the training system, which contributes to maintaining an optimal level of professional training of the military and of the fighting capacity of subunits.
Igor Dodon has thanked the officers and soldiers for their mastery and demonstrated the good results during the exercise, reiterating that Moldova needs real men, patriots and defenders of Moldovan people.
Also, the President of Moldova has pointed out that AN was and remains one of the fundamental institutions of the state that defends its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. CS has mentioned that he will take all measures to ensure the good activity of AN, including remuneration of its employees.
