Moldovan president meets Gagauzia's governor

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/- On a working visit to the south of the country on 26 November, President Igor Dodon had a meeting with Gagauzia's governor Irina Vlah, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discussed several issues on the regional development. Special attention was paid to the issue on adopting the autonomy budget for 2020, pointing out some difficulties in the financial and fiscal sectors. At the same time, the sides stressed the importance of implementing the planned social projects, including those implemented with the support of Turkey and other external partners.
Also, the officials approached the adoption of the package of laws for Gagauzia aimed at harmonizing the legal acts of the Autonomy with the national legislation.
In another context, Igor Dodon and Irina Vlah examined the preparations for the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Law on the Special Legal Status of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri)", an event to be held on 23 December, under the aegis of the president.
The president participated in the consecration of the Parochial House of the Cathedral St. John the Baptist, where previously the head of state provided support for the repair of the bell tower.
