Moldovan PM invited to participate in Central European Initiative's Summit

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the beginning of the discussion, PM Ion Chicu appreciated the friendly and dynamic relation, which has been formed on the social and economic segment between Moldova and Italy during time. The official thanked for openness and cooperation, as well as for the fact that the Italian state carefully hosts one of the most numerous communities of Moldovans.
At the same time, the prime minister said that the current cabinet made efforts to fulfill all provisions of the Association Agreement and improve the citizens’ living.
„We are concerned, particularly, about the carrying through of the justice reform, the election of an upright and objective prosecutor general, so that all institutions become functional. This is, in fact, also the main desideratum of those willing to invest in Moldova: a fair justice and a modern infrastructure,” Ion Chicu said.
Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti voiced confidence that the Moldovan-Italian political dialogue would be fostered and would generate more benefits for the citizens of the two countries.
„Our countries are connected on a lot of aspects and, in this respect we have more reasons to deepen the bilateral relations. The Italian state will back Moldova on its way towards European integration, including in the implementation of all reforms underway.”
In the end of the meeting, Valeria Biagiotti conveyed an invitation by the Italian prime minister to PM Ion Chicu to participate in the Summit of the Central European Initiative, due in Rome on 19 December.
