Moldovan president chairs meeting on social, economic, political issues

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today held a meeting with Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister Ion Chicu. Attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Sergiu Puscuta, Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi and Secretary General of the Presidential Administration Nicolae Posturusu, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discusses several major issues on the social and economic development of Moldova, especially the working out of the draft state budget for 2020, approved at a cabinet meeting today and submitted to parliament for consideration. In the context, the sides referred to the continuation of the cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.
The officials also tackled the issue of the work of some economic agents in the Giurgiulesti international port, emphasizing concerns by development partners, which appeared on the period of the former governances.
The interlocutors also discussed the issues on the pressing need to implement the justice reform. The Moldovan top leadership was informed about the findings of a recent meeting of Moldova’s delegation with Venice Commission experts, held in Strasbourg. In the context, Igor Dodon reiterated the importance of implementing the obligations taken within the international agreements with Moldova’s foreign partners.
