Superior Council of Prosecutors interviews candidates for position of Prosecutor General

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/- The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) convened in a meeting today to interview the four candidates selected by the Ministry of Justice in the contest for Prosecutor General. The first one was interviewed Oleg Crâșmaru.
According to the CSP members, after the interview, all results of the selection stage will be evaluated, and the winner's name will be announced after 14:00 and will be submitted for appointment to the head of state.
The list of the four candidates selected following the contest initiated by the Ministry of Justice - Oleg Crâșmaru, Vladislav Gribincea, Veaceslav Soltan and Alexandr Stoianoglo, was transmitted on November 18 to the CSP by new minister Fadei Nagacevschi. He announced he recognizes the results of the contest, which he considers to be legal, although his predecessor, Olesea Stamati, had canceled it.
According to the new amendments to the legislation, the CSP will select a candidate from the four proposed names and will submit for approval to the head of state.
