Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with United Nations Resident Coordinator

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today had a meeting with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Moldova Simon Springett, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Zinaida Greceanii welcomed the appointment of Simon Springett to this office. She expressed full openness for cooperation, in order to efficiently carry out the joint agenda, including as regards the support for the efficient coordination of the foreign assistance for Moldova.
”During years, the UNO have represented an important partner of Moldova and the country’s citizens. This is a reason for gratitude and ground for the continuous advancement of our cooperation,” Greceanii noted.
Simon Springett expressed willingness to contribute to the fulfillment of Moldova’s development expectations and urged the Moldovan authorities to regard the team of the UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova as a joint one.
Simon Springett has a 25-year international experience in the humanitarian and development sector. The UN Resident Coordinator in a country is the UN Secretary General’s official representative and has the goal to join the activity of the resident and non-resident UN agencies, UNO funds and programmes.
