Programmes implemented in Moldova by International Republican Institute discussed at ministry of foreign affairs

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ – The projects implemented by the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Moldova were discussed on Thursday, 28 November, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Aureliu Ciocoi, with the new head of the IRI mission in Moldova, Andrea Keerbs.
According to the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, Minister Aureliu Ciocoi has welcomed the programmes implemented by IRI, which encourage the active participation of women in political processes, support the networks of local public authorities (APL) and initiatives of young people. "The involvement of civil society in development of democracy remains an unquestionable priority of existing Government," said head of Moldovan diplomacy.
Andrea Keerbs has communicated about the availability of IRI to further develop various programmes in Moldova and expand the planned projects in 2020, mentioning its main directions of activity.
Founded in 1983, the Republican International Institute is a non – profit organisation committed to promote democracy and freedom through workshops by volunteer experts from around the world. In Moldova, IRI has operated since 2003.
