Moldovan PM says 2020 budget to be focused on investments in infrastructure, improving citizens' well-being

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today met Ambassador of Austria to Moldova Christine Freilinger. In the beginning of the meeting, the ambassador congratulated the PM on the swearing in office and wished him success in his work, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
PM Ion Chicu informed the Austrian official about the actions undertaken by the current cabinet and detailed the cabinet’s activity plan for the next period.
„The government is focused on the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union and Moldova’s budget for 2020 will be focused on investments in infrastructure, creation of jobs and improvement of the citizens’ well-being,” Ion Chicu said.
For her part, Christine Freilinger said that the transparency of process of public procurements would be necessary to enhance at present, which might arouse foreign investors’ interest in doing business in Moldova.
In the context, the prime minister thanked for the support provided by Austria in the processes of Moldova’s reformation and modernization. At the same time, the PM voiced confidence that the Austrian Development Agency would extend its involvement in Moldova.
