Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/- At a meeting of the Joint Control Commission held on 28 November in Bender, at the initiative of the Moldovan delegation it was coordinated the access to the Security Zone of the relevant specialists and technical equipment needed to carry out the technical expertise and the execution project before the bridge repair across the Dniestre river on M1 way, Chisinau-Dubasari route, between two posts of joint peacekeeping forces, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Therefore, in November 2019 – June 2020, under the aegis of the State Road Administration, geodesic, topogeodetic studies, examination and testing of the bridge elements that unite the localities of Criuleni and Lunga will be carried out.
The agenda of the meeting lacked the issue promoted by representatives of the Russian Federation regarding the verification and analysis of the situation in the Security Zone following the Transnistrian side's setting on 1 May of its "border guard" structures and the extension of their competences. It was agreed that the issue will be examined in the consultations of the three Commission co-chairs, with the participation of a representative from Ukraine and the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
Also, due to lack of consensus, it was not possible to set on the agenda the Moldovan delegation’s proposal on initiating the elaboration of the Regulations of Joint Military Command, which would include all the relevant decision-making documents adopted over the years.
The JCC members only managed to approve the weekly report of the Joint Military Command on the situation in the Security Zone on 20-26 November 2019. After heated discussions, other issues on the agenda were transferred to the next commission meeting due on 5 December.
