Moldovan head of state introduces new Prosecutor General to prosecutors' staff

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today introduced Prosecutor General of Moldova Alexandru Stoianoglo to the prosecutors’ staff. The head of state said that he had signed the decree on the appointment of Stoianoglo to this office after the reception of the positive note by the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP), which was unanimously adopted.    

According to the presidential press service, Igor Dodon wished the prosecutor general success in the fulfillment of the difficult tasks of the Prosecutor General’s Office. In this respect, the head of state launched five proposals to the prosecutor general, it would good for him to be guided by in his further work:  

- Liquidation of corruption in the system;

- Non-allowing the involvement of the political factor in the institution’s activity;

- Successful investigation of the files with high impact;

- Non-allowing of the involvement of the external factor in the work, either from the East or from the West;

- Creation of a team of professional and upright prosecutors, with experience in the field.  

The Moldovan president reiterated the fact that both the prosecutors and the society expect conclusive results on the investigation of the bank fraud, disclosure of the corruption schemes, usurpation of the state power and calling to account of the people guilty.

Igor Dodon also voiced hope that, following the appointment of the Prosecutor General, the institution would become really professional, guided by the strict observance of the legislation. At the same time, Dodon gave assurances that the professionalism, integrity and the strict observance of the legislation would be appreciated and fully backed by the current governance.
