Moldovan foreign affairs minister receives ambassador of China

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - The traditional friendship, based on trust, mutual respect, non-interference with the domestic affairs, as well as the observance of the way of development chosen, has been reiterated at a meeting between Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and Ambassador of China to Moldova Zhang Yinghong, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The strengthening of the bilateral political dialogue and maintaining the high-level contacts, through the organization of mutual official visits, re-launch of the work of the joint inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation and the organization of business people’s missions in both countries, boosting of the bilateral commercial exchanges within the United Nations and its agencies are some of the priority benchmarks of the Moldovan-Chinese relation.
The Moldovan minister launched an idea to organize the next round of the inter-ministerial political consultations in Chisinau and spoke out for finishing the negotiations on the free trade agreement.
Also, Ciocoi stressed the importance of the cooperation with the Chinese government, in the context of the Silk Road/Belt and Road Initiative, as well as the encouraging of the participation of Chinese economic agents in the process of privatization of state assets in Moldova. Minister Ciocoi expressed confidence that China would become an exporter of capital and investments in Moldova, thus substantially contributing to backing the process of reforms and modernization of country, to which the new Moldovan government committed.
The Chinese ambassador gave assurances that his country would provide substantial assistance to Moldova, especially in the field of improving the infrastructure and optimizing the energy sector.
In the context, the Moldovan diplomacy head thanked the Chinese government for the support of Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the constant technical assistance provided to Moldova by the People’s Republic of China.
