Moldovan private companies, state invest more in long-term assets in first nine months of 2019

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - The investments in immobilized assets exceeded 15.78 billion lei in the first nine months of 2019, which is by 15.6 per cent more above the level of the same period of the year before. Business people invested more than 9.6 million lei in long-term projects, up by 11.7 per cent than in January-September 2018 and the investments from the state budget amounted to 1.3 billion lei, according to data by the National Statistics Bureau.     

The investments in long-term assets, made in the first nine months of this year, exceed by almost 6 billion lei the level from the same period of 2016, when a drastic fall of investments was recorded – 17.6 per cent. The 2019 years is the third year of the last five years when the biggest growth was registered. Economic experts say that the investments in the long-term material assets, made from the own sources of economic agents, with this index being one of the decisive factors able to ensure the economic growth and well-being in Moldova, were stimulated also by the increase of investments from public money. In January-September 2019, the investments from the state budget grew by 4.6 per cent against the same period of the previous year and the ones financed from the budgets of the administrative and territorial units – by 25.3 per cent. Investments worth 2.24 billion lei were made from public money in all.   

According to the types of assets, in the first nine months of 2019, Moldova registered essential increases of investments in non-residential buildings – by 28.2 per cent, engineering constructions – 13.5 per cent, transport means – 13.1 per cent, residential buildings – by 12.4 per cent. The investments in these sectors influenced the increase in the overall volume of investments in immobilized assets, which comprise both investments in material assets (buildings, machines, equipments) and non-material assets (copyrights, IT programmes.

The investments in machines, equipments, transmission installations continue to have the biggest share, 31.1 per cent, out of the overall volume of investments made in January-December 2018, statisticians said.

The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry for this year forecasts an 18-per cent increase in the investments in long-term material assets, up to 33.1 billion lei.
