Moldovan foreign affairs minister receives ambassador of France

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and Ambassador of France to Moldova Pascal Le Deunff discussed ways of boosting the Moldovan-French cooperation on the political, commercial, economic, cultural and education dimensions at a meeting today, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The officials appreciated the development of the bilateral relations between Moldova and France in fields of common interest, through the light of taking over good French practices in key sectors for the citizens’ well-being, such as the justice and health care ones.
Ambassador Pascal Le Deunff praised the Moldovan cabinet’s commitments in carrying out the reforms in the justice sector. In this respect, he reiterated the interest of France in backing Moldova’s efforts to implement the Association Agreement with the European Union.
The sides also exchanged opinions on common priorities, with emphasis put on starting new French investment projects in Moldova. Thus, the officials discussed the negotiation and signing of the convention on the avoidance of double taxation, which will create friendly conditions for increasing the trade and economic exchanges, turning to good account of the French assistance for the restoration of the Chisinau-Ungheni railway segment, as well as fostering actions to promote the French language and the Francophonie in Moldova.
