Over 40 journalists participate in reception organised by Chinese embassy in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ – Over 40 journalists and representatives of mass media NGOs have participated today in a reception organised by the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau, on the occasion of winter holidays.

The event lasted almost two hours and was intended to promote bilateral relations and friendship between the peoples of Moldova and China.

At the reception opening, Ambassador of China, Zhang Yinghong, has gave a speech in which he thanked the participants of the event for their efforts in deepening the development of the Moldovan – Chinese relations and invited them to visit China, which has made considerable progress in recent years, becoming IInd world economy, but also the largest trader of goods.

“This year marks 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the People's Republic of China, at a time when the country has become IInd largest economy, contributing over 30 per cent of world economic growth. In these years, China has also made important contributions to maintaining world peace and development," said the diplomat.

The Chinese official has also come with some info on issues that China is facing, including protests in Hong Kong. The Ambassador has concluded his speech with a bid for the Chisinau authorities and said that China has the necessary tools to get involved in supporting several projects to rehabilitate the infrastructure in Moldova, including the road one.

With a speech from the journalistic guild has come chief editor of AIS Moldpres, Simion Ropot. “I thank the journalists for their support, many of whom have visited China on different occasions and presented to the readers the achievements this state has achieved during the 70 years since its foundation. I have seen how the Chinese people, but also its visionary leaders, manage to coagulate and mobilise huge efforts to perpetuate in time a civilisation that is always boldly relaunching its state in modernity,” said Ropot.

Since 1992, the bilateral relations between Moldova and China have deepened, there have been signed over 60 bilateral agreements on trade – economic cooperation until now, avoiding double taxation on income and capital taxes, air services, domains like: consular, tourism, healthcare, culture, military etc.
