Moldovan PM meets Croatian prime minister

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with PM of Croatia Andrej Plenković, within the visit to Rome. Starting from 1 January 2020, Croatia will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Ion Chicu informed his Croatian counterpart about the process of implementation of the Association Agreement with EU and the Moldovan cabinet’s priorities for 2020-2023, among which he noted the justice reform, combating corruption, investments in infrastructure, economy’s modernization and enhancement of the social well-being.
The sides also discussed opportunities of social and economic cooperation between Moldova and Croatia and voiced intention to boost the bilateral dialogue.
„We are interested in strengthening the dialogue with the EU member states and we rely on their support as to Moldova’s European integration. The priority goal is currently to re-establish the citizens’ trust in the state’s institutions,” Ion Chicu said at his meeting with the Croatian PM.
