More air flights to be delayed due to fog

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/- Several flights were canceled, detained or redirected today in the morning due to fog.

According to the official website of the Chisinau International Airport, flights from Istanbul, Paris, Moscow and Venice will land late in Chisinau. Two other aircraft that were to arrive from Bologna and Bucharest were redirected.

At the same time, the flight to Bucharest, scheduled for this morning was canceled, and the plane to Istanbul will take off from Chisinau late.

This morning, Prime Minister Ion Chicu wrote “the fog in Chisinau prevented the aircraft landing and remained blocked in Bucharest ”. "Together with many people who are rushing to Chisinau, we are waiting for the right time. Chisinau fog prevented landing ships and we were blocked in Bucharest. People are late for exams and meetings. Some have to go to funerals - here the Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest got involved and provided transportation for them. The rest of us are waiting for the good time. The airport is gate in the country and it is dangerous when the gate is only one, "wrote Ion Chicu.

The State Hydrometeorological Service issued this morning a Yellow Fog Code and said that throughout the day, fog will be in some areas.
