Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/- The competences to ensure aviation security will return legally to the Border Police. MPs reviewed the law on aviation security at the request of the president.
President Igor Dodon asked the parliament to review the document approved on 23 November 2018, on the grounds that the variant for promulgation did not reach the purpose of implementing European regulations in the common aviation area agreement between Moldova and the EU and member states.
They generate uncertainties and difficulties in carrying out the practical tasks of the profile institutions, reduce and affect the functional competences of the public bodies meant to ensure the security regime.
Dodon noted that the document previously approved by the MPs distorts the competences of the Border Police, including ensuring security, application and management of security equipment, and de facto transfers them to an economic agent.
