Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - Government’s Secretary General Liliana Iaconi today conveyed a message by Prime Minister Ion Chicu to the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) employees, at a festivity occasioned by the 29th anniversary of the foundation of the police, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In his message, PM Chicu said that the history of the national police was closely connected to the history of Moldova and the way covered by the police was practically a mirror of the way covered by the country.
Ion Chicu stressed the need to identify and bring to forefront people who deserve to be appreciated and who can become example for the others: “I am not afraid of the word “heroes,” as the profession of policeman implies dignity, dedication and sacrifice – and a good policeman is necessarily a potential hero.”
In his addressing, PM Ion Chicu reminded to the law-enforcers that their mission was to ensure public order, peace and safety of the citizens.
„I want to encourage you to pay more attention to your educative mission. People want to live in a safe environment, free from dangers, where they can feel protected and can be calm about the integrity of their assets. Please, be aware of how much public order means for people and their wish to live in Moldova. I count on your dedication and I think that we will together enhance the people’s trust in police and in the good future of Moldova,” Ion Chicu said.
