Moldovan PM meets Venice Commission President

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Venice Commission President Gianni Buquicchio at the Chisinau International Airport, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The PM informed the European official about the cabinet’s intentions and priorities in the process of justice sector’s reformation. In the context, Ion Chicu thanked Gianni Buquicchio for the support provided in the process of reformation of justice.

The Venice Commission’s president stressed the importance of progress in the reformation of justice for Moldova’s economic and social development and assured the prime minister of further backing the country in this process.

President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) Gianni Buquicchio pays a visit to Chisinau on 19-20 December.
