Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - A member of the Audiovisual Council (CA), Corneliu Mihalache, in an interview given exclusively with the MOLDPRES State News Agency, has said that the television was perceived as an instrument of political support and not as a media business.
"If we refer to the advertising market from Moldova, which dropped from over 20 million euros to only seven million, we have a too large number of televisions. The television is perceived as an instrument of political support and not as a media business,” Mihalache said.
The official noted that, if the Moldovan audiovisual sector was managed correctly, it would have presently had only three-four native generalist televisions, which would have proved more deontology than those 10-12 big televisions existing at present. “It is quite difficult to counteract the external propaganda, if the professional deontology of journalists depends on the state of mind of the television’s owner, who sees his/her personal puppet in it,” Corneliu Mihalache stressed.
