Christmas fair inaugurated in Chisinau municipality

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ – The Christmas Fair was inaugurated in the centre of Chisinau municipality on the evening of Saturday, 21 December. The residents and guests of Chisinau will be able to visit it until 10 January.

The fair is located in the Metropolitan Cathedral Square, and not on street 31 August 1989, as it was in previous years. At its opening, the visitors had a concert held by the National Orchestra of folk music Lautarii and Alex Calancea Band. Also, the good music was complemented by a fireworks show.

The traditional Christmas fair can be visited daily, at 12:00 – 22:00. It includes the fair of traditions with products of folk craftsmen, Santa's house, children's play areas and gastronomic area, where visitors can find boiled wine, tea, coffee and pastries.

During upcoming 03 weeks, it will take place concerts on weekends, Christmas and New Year's Eve. The artists that will entertain visitors include Valy Boghean, SunStroke Project, Nelly Ciobanu, Katharsis, Anisoara Puica.

The event, inspired by the traditional Christmas fairs in European cities, has reached its IIIrd issue and it is organised this year by the Government of Moldova and the Chisinau City Hall. It ends on 10 January with a Gala Concert and the Tombola of Holidays.

Christmas fairs are also organised in the sectors of Chisinau municipalities.
