Moldovan president meets heads of diaspora of almost 20 regions of Russia

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ – In Saint Petersburg, President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has had a meeting with the heads of Moldovan diaspora of almost 20 regions of Russia, the presidency’s press service has reported.

In a dialogue with Moldovan fellow citizens, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, Igor Dodon has reported on the consistent discussions he had with various officials during his current visit to Russia.

The head of state has specified that throughout joint efforts of Moldovan and Russian leaderships, it has been possible to achieve more good results for Moldova, such as issuing 16,000 transport permits for 2020 by Russia, expanding the list of categories of goods that are exported to Russian market without customs duties for another 05 product categories as well as expanding the list of fruits and vegetable exporters on Russian market – from 130 to over 350 Moldovan companies.

Als0, President of Moldova has informed the leaders of diaspora that the process of opening a consulate of Moldova in St. Petersburg was launched, stressing that it is an extremely important decision for the thousands of compatriots who work in this region.

Also, Igor Dodon has pointed out that he will continue the dialogue with the Russian leadership in the interests of our citizens and make an effort to attract Russian investments in important infrastructure projects.

In another context, the head of state has mentioned the good cooperation between Parliament, Government and Presidential institution which have jointly managed to approve several bills of social character, meant to contribute to improving the quality of life of Moldovan citizens.

At the end of dialogue, Igor Dodon has reiterated that it will continue the consolidation of Moldovan diaspora from all over the world.
