About 160 laws adopted in parliament's autumn session

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/- About 160 laws were adopted in Parliament's autumn session. Speaker Zinaida Grecianii made the statement today at the end of a joint meeting with President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Ion Chicu.
Also, 73 laws and 100 decisions were adopted in this session, and according to preliminary data 81 draft laws were approved in the first reading. Authors of about 70 percent of all laws registered in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova are MPs.
“Even if we do not have a parliamentary majority, the social initiatives launched by the head of state were all voted. It also succeeded in adopting the extremely necessary budget laws for the whole country. There were also heated discussions, but the most important thing is that the country enters the new year with all the necessary documents approved,” Grecîanîi said.
According to the Legislative Regulations, the Parliament meets in two ordinary sessions per year. The spring session begins in February and may not exceed the end of July. The autumn session begins in September and may not exceed the end of December. The first plenary session of the autumn 2019 session took place on September 27.
