Turkey willing to give higher level to friendship relations with Moldova

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ – Parliament Speaker, Zinaida Greceanii, has met with members of the Friendship Parliamentary Group Turkey – Moldova, who are in Moldova on the occasion of participating in the celebrations of 25th anniversary of Gagauzia, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The meeting has been attended by MPs Ivanna Koksal, head of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of Moldova with the Turkish Parliament, as well as the members of group, Alexandr Suhodolski Group and Fiodor Gagauz.

During the discussions, there have been noted good relations of cooperation between Moldova and Turkey in various fields and expressed the interest for their continuous expansion.

Zinaida Greceanii has mentioned that recent ratification by Moldovan Parliament of the Joint Declaration on the establishment of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Moldova and Turkey will contribute to the strengthening of bilateral economic and social cooperation.

The head of the Friendship Parliamentary Group Turkey – Moldova, Mehmet Altay, has confirmed the existence of good Moldovan – Turkish friendship relationships, while also expressing the interest of Turkey in bringing them to a higher level. MP has emphasised that the Gagauz autonomy serves as a bridge in cooperative and friendly relations of Turkey and Moldova.
