Sixty three companies to receive grants throughout programme PARE 1+1 in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ – A total amount of 63 new investment projects will benefit from financial support in a total amount of MDL 15.6 mln throughout the Remittance Programme in Economics PARE 1+1, intended for migrant workers or their first – degree relatives. The financing contracts have been signed, on Monday, 23 December, in Chisinau.

The Director General of the Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (ODIMM), Iulia Costin, has stated at the event that the beneficiaries of Programme may be eligible also in other financing programmes launched by state. "I wish the resources received from the state to multiply, to be able to invest and add to them the resources from other financial instruments existing in Moldova," said Iulia Costin.

Out of the 63 companies that will receive funding, 34 are from agricultural sector, 15 are active in industry and 14 are active in the field of service provision. The companies are located in 23 districts of Moldova, about 78 per cent of them operating in rural area.

According to ODIMM's data, 63 beneficiaries invest remittances from 12 states, including Belgium, Germany, Russia, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, UK, etc.

Programme PARE 1+1 has been implemented by ODIMM since 2010 and it aims to mobilise the human and financial resources of Moldovans working abroad in the sustainable economic development of Moldova. The programme is funded from state budget (BS) and supplemented by EU funds. It is extended until 2021.

Since the programme launch until present, there have benefited 1,507 companies of a non – reimbursable financing of a total value of MDL 306.66 mln, which have generated investments in economy of over MDL 925 mln.
