Moldovan PM says leadership learns to back each other, settle country's problems together

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today participated in an event on marking the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Gagauzia Territorial Unit, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The PM said that this was a common holiday for all citizens of Moldova. In continuation, the prime minister stressed that the foundation had been laid for the preservation of the Gagauzians’ national identity through the setting up of the territorial unit.  

„Together, we have learned to edify and develop a state and a society. We learned to hear and understand each other. We have learned to back each other and settle the country’s problems together. Gagauzia is an important region of Moldova, where the Gagauz customs, language and culture was managed to be preserved,” the prime minister said.

The PM highlighted the efforts of Bashkan (governor) of Gagauzia Irina Vlah to start an intense process of the region’s industrialization. The prime minister specified that the progress made by Gagauzia represent the result of the mutual respect, which has been and will be the foundation of a civilized society.   

„A lot of good things unite us, especially the common goals. We everybody want  to enhance the well-being of the people. We work together to modernize Moldova’s economy, to create more stable jobs and more opportunities of development for young people and to create here conditions in which our children will be willing to live at home,” Ion Chicu added.
